Good Light Status Dsl
If the light status is good, make sure that the modem is connected to the computer directly, and begin troubleshooting. Take note of what error the customer is getting when they try to connect using the 3web/CIA icon:
- Error 691 - Invalid username/password, if they are looking in using the 3web/CIA connection software, i.e. using an Access Key.
- Error 678 - Connection Timeout, a rather vague error, it usually means that there is a problem on the customers computer, or with the wire going from the modem to the computer. http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2002/05/52756
If the software is appearing to connect without any errors, the problem may be:
- a firewall(trying disabling ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, Windows Firewall, etc)
