Error 645: Internal Authentication Error
This error is normally caused by corruption or missing components on the network layer.
What to watch for:
Make sure that all network components required for dial up service are installed. If not, add
them. Instructions on how to do so manually are listed below.
Remove any unnecessary clients and protocols on the network layer as these may interfere with the connection. (IPX/SPX, NetBEUI etc) unless the customer knows that they need them. Make sure VPN is not listed. Remove any extra protocols, clients (Microsoft Family Logon is fine if it's there) and services.
If customer is running Windows 95 or Windows 98, after fixing the network protocols and clients, you may need to reinstall Dial up Networking.
